Louis Vuitton has finally thrown open the doors to its Island Maison which is literally a floating isle of luxury. Designed by Peter Marino, the luxury store sits on water at the Marina Bay Sands. Thanks to its floor to ceiling windows, the store gives some spectacular views of the bay. As with any other Louis Vuitton store, this one shall stock all things luxury – right from bags and clutches to clothes.
The store is to boast of a dedicated travel luggage and accessory space in the ‘Travel Room’ which is the first of its kind in Asia. Visitors who want to go to the island will need to go through an exclusive tunnel from the Marina Bay Sands mall. The designer has also incorporated a private lounge for presentations. The tunnel features pieces of contemporary artwork before finally opening into the Louis Vuitton bookstore where books on art, design and culture are available.
While Louis Vuitton has 459 stores in the world, and 11 other Maison across the globe, this is the first floating maison ever.
However September is a month of firsts –just last week LV stunned Dubai by opening its first aiport store worldwide in Seoul’s Incheon International Airport.
