I know that I have not posted in a while and I apologize. Things have been going crazy over the last few weeks and I haven’t had the time to sit down and write. Today, however, I seem to have plenty of time and so I’m putting down my final thoughts on 2010.
The year has been full of ups and down. A true rollercoaster ride if ever there was one in terms of politics, the economy, indictments over insider trading, Dodd-Frank, healthcare, QE2 and, of course, all the issues with the Spider-Man musical. I don’t know where to begin, so I’ve decided not to say a word. I will leave you all with this parting thought on 2010: Be glad it’s over – we made it, and here’s to a great 2011!
THINGS THAT DRIVE ME CRAZY!
Last week, it happened yet again, I went to Le Pain Quotidien on 40th Street, and while I enjoyed my breakfast I asked for a refill on the coffee – you guessed it – they charged me for the refill. I guess that times are tough in the medium-end bistro business and management can’t afford to part with that second cup of joe. I asked to speak with a manager and was told no one was available.
It is outrageous to charge for a refill. It seems that for a company that says “it is committed to responsible business practices that are good for the community and the environment” – providing its customers with a free refill doesn’t cut it. Don’t go to these places. There are better choices, like any other place that serves coffee.
