Something a bit different…

I recently saw the movie “Searching for Sugar Man” and have to tell you that it is just a fantastic story. It is rare that I have any interest in recommending a movie to anyone let alone the entire HEDGEAnswers Community. However, I must say the movie, the story and the music are all truly amazing. The movie, for those of you like me who have missed it, is the story of the hunt for Sixto Rodriquez by two Cape Town based-fans who wanted to know what happened to the musician. Rodriquez music was an anthem to many during the Apartheid era. However, little was know about the musician and what became of him after his records where released in the early 1970’s. Two fans decided to search for and through the power of the Internet found him living in Detroit. To get the full picture – check out the movie.
I realize that I am a bit late and recommending the film – it premiered at Sundance in January 2012 and went won a series of awards including the Oscar for the Best Documentary Feature in February of this year. I watched it last week and thoroughly enjoyed it. With thanks to Rob Davis for recommending it to me, I suggest you make time for this movie. You won’t be disappointed. If you are let me know.
