The bacon craze continues. Since venturing beyond the breakfast table, bacon is often found mixed with chocolate or in ice cream, and now JD Foods has created a limited-edition bacon-infused shaving cream.
“Bacon Shaving Cream is a high end, luxurious bacon-scented shaving cream for all skin types,” company co-founder Dave Lefkow wrote in a press release.”Our advanced heat-activated aromatic technology lasts for hours and delivers maximum bacon scent when you need it most.” He recommends using it after a hot shower or before an important date with a potential soul-mate. It will probably make them want to eat you up.
The self-acclaimed ‘bacontrepreneur’ Justin Esch agrees that a slathering of this speciality shaving cream before a romantic interlude will lead to excitement and love. “There is nothing more powerful than the smell of bacon, nothing. Bacon is the smell of champions. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and bacon is the best part of breakfast. Why not smell like it and be the best? Bacon is delicious, people get excited when they smell it. When you walk into a room don’t you want people to be excited to see you?”
A jar will set you back $14.99 (only 2500 to hit the market for the holiday season) and in addition to smelling like bacon fat all day (a good thing?), there is supposedly numerous benefits to your skin from the “rich creamy moisturizers and hearty essential oils.”
According to OddityCentral.com, while JD Foods claims they have created the “world’s first bacon-scented shaving cream, there’s a Wisconsin-based shop called Mama Bears Shop that claims they’ve been selling a similar product since 2010.” Not to mention, way back when — bacon fat was a go-to product.
And, if shaving cream isn’t enough apparently there is an eau de bacon! Bacōn by Fargginay was introduced in 2011. “The wacky cologne is supposed to be a rediscovered secret recipe by John Fargginay, a Parisian butcher who, at the beginning of the 20th century, “discovered the ability to elevate his customers’ mood” using a combination of bacon, essential oils and herbs.”
