AN AK-47 FOR THE OFFICE

An AK-47 for the officeArms dealers have been known to flood the African market and now the Geneva-based mechanical luxury maker Roland Iten has reclaimed the killing machines to turn them into arm candy under the new brand Fonderie 47.

A pair of the cufflinks costs nearly $33,000, possibly the most expenisve in the world, and are plated with 18K white and rose gold. Only 20 pieces will be made and over 20,000 guns will be taken off the streets.

In addition to cufflinks, Fonderie 47 makes custom rings for men and earrings for women. To create one ring some 75 assault riffles are destroyed and 500 are melted down and redesigned for a pair of earrings.

Iten intends to produce watches and bracelets in the future with recycled guns, reports the blog Luxatic. See how they are hand crafted and read more about the products by entering this serial code: 88112578, here.
