The Grand Hotel Florence restored, redesigned, renamed and now open
International hotel chain Starwood has announced the reopening of a landmark Florence hotel. The now St Regis Florence has been treated to a ten-month restoration which has seen significant interior changes to the 18th century palace, ranked among the city’s most significant buildings. The hotel boasts 81 rooms and 19 suites, decorated by local artisans and including antique furniture such as hand-carved gold leaf frames and crystal chandeliers. The readers of the US Condé Nast Traveler magazine named The Ritz-Carlton Shanghai, Pudong, China the ‘Best Hotel In The World’ in its 24th annual Readers Choice Awards for 2011. The Ritz-Carlton Shanghai received both Best Hotel in Asia Pacific, and then Overall Best Hotel in the World. Below is a list of the top 50 spots around the world to lay your head.
