Dubai dominates in the air again
Middle Eastern and Asian carriers have emerged the big winners in a list of the world’s top 20 airlines as decided by flyers from 160 countries. Emirates took the top spot at the 2013 edition of the Skytrax World Airline Awards held at the Paris Air Show this week, where the Dubai-based carrier succeeded in bumping rival Qatar from a place it’s occupied for the last two years. The winners are based on more than 18 million customer surveys which measure passenger satisfaction in areas such as check-in, boarding, onboard seat comfort, cabin cleanliness, staff, in-flight dining and entertainment. French picnic wine
A start-up out of France is getting a lot of buzz and raising eyebrows for launching a range of canned wines in a country of wine purists, where traditional winemaking traditions are fiercely upheld. Winestar is the latest company to put wine in an aluminum can, joining the likes of brands like Barokes, Francis Ford Coppola and Friends Just Wine in taking the concept of boxed and bagged wines a step further. In an interview with French newspaper Le Figaro, Winestar co-founder Cédric Segal said his goal is to make his company the “Nespresso of wine,” in reference to the concept of single-serve portions.
