It is a very interesting time to be working on Wall Street. History is being made almost daily and all of us are witnessing it first hand. Buckle up, the ride is about to get wild and it is not going to stop anytime soon. We are entering uncharted territory. Be afraid, be cautious, stay alert and pay attention. Focus during difficult periods is what will allow you to weather this and other storms. Blame the cocktail parties and managers!
I know it’s a cliché, but I’m going to write it anyway: I’m mad as hell and I’m not going to take it anymore. I really just don’t know what else to say about what’s going on with hedge fund performance this year. The third quarter of 2008 is quickly coming to an end, and for the most part, hedge fund performance is abysmal. It looks like both the equity and fixed income managers are taking it on the chin.
