Its creator John McGinnis contends that flying will soon be cheaper and greener than driving.<\/p>\n<p>He claims new technology allows him and his team to produce planes that offer:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Way more room.<\/li>\n<li>A quiet, smooth ride&#8230; with a view!<\/li>\n<li>Far greater economy, using better fuels.<\/li>\n<li>Easier operation.<\/li>\n<li>Greatly reduced travel time.<\/li>\n<li>True passenger safety.<\/li>\n<li>Far lower price.<\/li>\n<li>Quiet, friendly, neighborhood manners.<\/li>\n<li>Adaptability to hybrid, electric, and advanced engine technologies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Others have also been working to show this isn&#8217;t just a pipedream with the Yuneec electric sport airplane prototype ($89,000) and the highly fuel-efficient Pipistrel&#8217;s Panthera four-seater airplane.<\/p>\n<p>However Synergy promises the small passenger airplane &#8220;with a mesmeric power efficiency that will even beat our cars down in mileage,&#8221; according to the blog BornRich.<\/p>\n<p>The Synergy project was initially iintroduced at NASA\u2019s 2011 Green Flight Challenge. McGinnis et al are currently seeking funding ($65,000) on Kickstarter.
