I know that I have not posted in a while and I apologize. Things have been going crazy over the last few weeks and I haven\u2019t had the time to sit down and write. Today, however, I seem to have plenty of time and so I\u2019m putting down my final thoughts on 2010.<\/p>\n
The year has been full of ups and down. A true rollercoaster ride if ever there was one in terms of politics, the economy, indictments over insider trading, Dodd-Frank, healthcare, QE2 and, of course, all the issues with the Spider-Man musical. I don\u2019t know where to begin, so I\u2019ve decided not to say a word. I will leave you all with this parting thought on 2010: Be glad it\u2019s over \u2013 we made it, and here\u2019s to a great 2011!<\/p>\n
THINGS THAT DRIVE ME CRAZY!<\/p>\n
Last week, it happened yet again, I went to Le Pain Quotidien on 40th Street, and while I enjoyed my breakfast I asked for a refill on the coffee \u2013 you guessed it \u2013 they charged me for the refill. I guess that times are tough in the medium-end bistro business and management can\u2019t afford to part with that second cup of joe. I asked to speak with a manager and was told no one was available.<\/p>\n
It is outrageous to charge for a refill. It seems that for a company that says \u201cit is committed to responsible business practices that are good for the community and the environment\u201d \u2013 providing its customers with a free refill doesn\u2019t cut it. Don\u2019t go to these places. There are better choices, like any other place that serves coffee.<\/p>\n
