With the anticipated delivery of the Learjet 85 in 2013, the first “buyer” of the Bombardier-built aircraft, Flexjet<\/a>, recently announced the availability of its fractional jet ownership sales program for the business jet. Flexjet is a division of Bombardier, which is the third largest manufacturer of aircraft worldwide.<\/p>\n

The private-aviation firm also sent out the message that the first four Learjet 85 models it has are being offered at “competitive prices.” The Learjet 85 is the first business jet to be FAR Part 25-certified. Bombardier\u2019s new business jet will be the most spacious model in its class upon being officially flight-ready certified.<\/p>\n

“Designed to fly farther than any Learjet aircraft ever built, this new aircraft lives up to its legendary lineage while setting a new standard for passenger comfort,” said Fred Reid, president at Flexjet.<\/p>\n

Flexjet is offering guaranteed availability to its “elite fractional ownership program fleet” of aircraft to patrons who place a deposit on a Learjet 85 aircraft fractional share. Many of the improvements noted in the Learjet 85 are reported to be due to the carbon composites used in the construction of both the fuselage and the wing of the luxury business jet. Additionally, the aircraft\u2019s Pratt & Whitney Canada PW307B turbofan engine, which requires less maintenance and is easier to repair, is another feature that distinguishes it.<\/p>\n

The Learjet 85 accommodates eight passengers in a traditional double-club seating arrangement. It has a high-speed cruise of Mach 0.82 and a transcontinental-flight range of up to 3,000 nautical miles.<\/p>\n
